獲獎證書

近日，中加楓華國際學(xué)校BC高中部的同學(xué)們在國際性數(shù)學(xué)賽事CIMC和CSMC奪得佳績，用實力彰顯了楓華拔尖的數(shù)學(xué)教育水平。以下是專訪指導(dǎo)教師April Soo.

請介紹一下本次競賽

So, the contest, there are two contests, the CISMC ，which is theCanadian Intermediate Mathematics Contests，and CSMC which is the Canadian senior mathematics contest. So, both of these contests are held by the University of Waterloo and students from all across Canada and internationally can register to write this contest. So, at our school we had a total of 39 students who decided, from their own time, to participate in the contest. In total there were 8000, over 8000 participants in this CIMC and over 11000 participants in the CSMC. So, the students who won the awards of distinction were in the top 25% for the CSMC and those students are in the list that you should have. And then we have two school champions. So, that's students who got awarded the top score in each category in each contest.

數(shù)學(xué)競賽分為兩種，一種是CISMC，加拿大中級數(shù)學(xué)競賽，還有CSMC，即加拿大高級數(shù)學(xué)競賽。這兩項比賽都是由滑鐵盧大學(xué)舉辦的，加拿大和世界各地的學(xué)生都可以參賽。在我們學(xué)校，共有39名學(xué)生自主決定參加比賽。本次初級數(shù)學(xué)競賽的參賽學(xué)生全部共有超過8000名，高級數(shù)學(xué)競賽參賽學(xué)生則有超過11000名。CSMC中排名前25%的學(xué)生即為獲獎。此外還會有兩個校級冠軍，他們是分別在兩項競賽中獲得最高分的學(xué)生。

如何準(zhǔn)備本次比賽的

Kind of an extracurricular activity they were in charge of going to the website, looking at the past contests, going over their knowledge from high school from grade nine onward to help them with this contest. So, a lot of the work is really done by the students. We had maybe two tutorial session that were also student led, before the contest and students got together and they looked at some math problems and we solved them together.

這個比賽更像是課外活動，學(xué)生們自己上網(wǎng)查看過去的競賽內(nèi)容，復(fù)習(xí)從高中九年級開始的知識，從而幫助他們更好地進(jìn)行競賽準(zhǔn)備，因此很多**都是由學(xué)生自己完成的。在比賽之前我們會開展兩次輔導(dǎo)課程，同樣也是由學(xué)生來主導(dǎo)的，學(xué)生們聚在一起共同研究并且解答一些數(shù)學(xué)題目。

So, what I have to say to the students who won is that it's no small task, right. It's a major accomplishment so I want them to stay curious and continue participating in these extracurricular events.

我想對那些想要獲獎的學(xué)生說，這不是一項小任務(wù)，而是一次大的挑戰(zhàn)，因此我希望他們能夠保持好奇心，繼續(xù)參加這些課外活動。

能夠獲得好成績我們都很開心，這對我們也是很大的激勵，今后還會繼續(xù)學(xué)好數(shù)學(xué)，爭取斬獲更多競賽成績。
