專業概況
在這里學什么?The Bachelor of Pharmacy and Management is an innovative five-year degree that teaches a unique combination of pharmacy skills and business knowledge to develop the commercial, clinical and communication skills necessary to thrive in a changing and competitive healthcare landscape.
As a pharmacy and management student, you will develop an understanding of sound business practices integrated with sustainable healthcare models. Through practical learning and extensive clinical placements, you will learn how drugs are developed and how medications affect the human body, as well as how to apply key business knowledge to your pharmacy practice, no matter which professional pharmacy avenue you choose.
Throughout this five-year degree, you will cover topics including chemical, physical, pharmaceutical and pharmacological properties of medicines, and the application of these in the practice. Learning occurs through a mix of lectures, tutorials, labs, small group work and problem-based learning, which develop valuable practical skills and knowledge. In senior years, considerable time is spent in clinical placements in community and hospital pharmacies, where you will gain significant practical experience. You will also have access to the newly opened University of Sydney Business School, a state-of-the-art learning environment, as well as the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy's cutting-edge facilities.
Whether you decide to register as a pharmacist, run your own business, enter the pharmaceutical industry, work for government agencies, or contribute to research and academia, you will be in demand and have the opportunity to directly improve people's lives.
Majors
Completion of a major is not a requirement of the Bachelor of Pharmacy and Management. Candidates have the option of completing one major. A major requires the completion of 24 credit points chosen from units of study listed during the fifth year of study. Optional majors in fifth year: industrial pharmacy or international exchange.

Graduate opportunities
Pharmacists are an integral part of the healthcare system and have the capacity to directly affect the lives and lifestyles of the people with whom they interact. There are a wide variety of career choices open to registered pharmacists. Examples include community pharmacy (community practice), hospital pharmacy, research positions within universities or research institutes, or positions in the pharmaceutical industry in drug production, marketing of drug development.
Future study options
On completion of this course, students may enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice to complete the Intern Training Program.
