If you are looking to make the transition from a science or mathematics-based career to become an engineer, or if you already have an engineering degree and would like to change paths to a different specialisation, the Master of Professional Engineering offers an accredited qualification that will enable you to practise in Australia and overseas. The aerospace specialisation covers spacecraft and satellite design, aerodynamics, aircraft design analysis, and smart materials.

The degree will also help you develop the sound communication, management and decision-making capabilities necessary to interpret and discuss complex issues in your area of specialisation. This program will provide you with the engineering professional practice and research skills that lead to recognition as an Australian graduate engineer. Your qualifications will be recognised internationally through the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance.

The University of Sydney is a research intensive institution with a strong track record of technology transfer, industry leadership and commercialisation. Research activities in the faculty focus on a wide range of areas from aerospace, biomedical, combustion, processing and manufacture, design, robotics, electronics, networks, wireless and satellite systems. If you would like to be part of Sydney's engineering research community, you may consider applying for admission to a research degree. Students completing a Master of Professional Engineering program with excellent average marks are eligible to undertake supervised research in the degree of Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.

Graduate opportunities

Aerospace engineers will have opportunities to pursue a career in research, airline maintenance and operations, aerospace design and manufacturing, in both civil and military environments, defence, science, simulation and system engineering.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants need to have one of the following: a bachelor’s degree with first or second-class honours from the University of Sydney or another approved institution; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates sufficient research experience and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing.
