The research produced by our department is used to develop policy by government, the EU and the UN. You will be able to pursue careers in the institutions of criminal justice such as the police, prisons, courts or probation, in the criminal justice support services, in organisations and charities that work on criminal justice policy and reform, in research institutions.Many of our academics bring extensive professional experience from within agencies such as the Home Office, the police and the probation service and many also have professional experience within criminal justice institutions such as the Police, HM Inspectorate of Prisons, and Probation services.
