Now I work as a freelancer，and have been active in the market for about five years since I returned from England
現(xiàn)在是一名自由譯員
自回國后已有五年工作經(jīng)驗
I have gathered some experience along the way
今天想和大家分享一路以來的體會
and really love to share some of my thoughts with you about interpretation
一些關(guān)于口譯的所思所想
especially simultaneous interpreting
尤其是同聲傳譯
Point one I believe to become a qualified simultaneous interpreter
首先我認(rèn)為要成為一名合格的同傳譯員
one needs to be adept at the languages involved
需精通所用之語
be it Chinese English French or Spanish
不論是中英法西等
You should be adroit language users，which is the basic requirement
我們需要是語言善用者
這一點(diǎn)基礎(chǔ)也關(guān)鍵
Next one is expected to know some must-learned skills on SI
此外還需掌握同傳必學(xué)之技能
and this brings me to point two，the importance of systematic study
這就要說到第二點(diǎn)
即系統(tǒng)學(xué)習(xí)的重要性
Well I think it works to your advantage to learn with a teacher or teachers
我認(rèn)為從師學(xué)習(xí)大有效益
because they know the most what today’s market is like
因為他們對當(dāng)下市場最為了解
and how to become a competent interpreter accordingly
也深知如何培養(yǎng)一名優(yōu)秀譯員
Besides，systematic study allows you to work with your course-mates
另外系統(tǒng)學(xué)習(xí)讓我們可以有伴同行有伴同練
I mean as an interpreter you cannot work on your own ad infinitum
同傳譯員不是靠單打獨(dú)斗
and knowing how to cooperate with others，can prepare you for the future
因而提前了解如何與搭檔合作
對未來有利無弊
Point three and this the question I was asked the most
最后聊聊我常被問到的一個問題
The prospect of this industry
即口譯行業(yè)的未來
Well I believe it is very promising
我相信未來可期
I’m saying this not because I want to comfort you
這么說絕無安慰之意
I will give you my reasons
原因如下
Undoubtedly China will continue to open its door wider to the world
中國無疑將繼續(xù)推進(jìn)改革開放
which means the demand for translators and interpreters，will only go up
由此可見市場對譯員的需求
必將只增不減
because to some extent，they serve as a bridge linking China with the world
畢竟從某一程度說
翻譯是連接中國與世界的橋梁
I won’t go any future
那就暫且先說到這兒吧
but I really want you to know
但是希望大家明白
that if you have made up your mind to become an interpreter
如果真的立志成為一名譯員
stick to it，and you won’t regret
請一定守住夢想
